Periodot grandly exemplifies Leo‘s warm and friendly energy and was thought to symbolize the Sun, the ruler of Leo. In Greece it bestowed the energy of royalty to the wearer! It works with the energy of the Solar Plexus, the chakra of the will and the highest implementation of the will, that of attunement to the Will of God, not our personal, egoic will.  And it heals heart problems often associated with the Heart of the Lion. Onyx is another stone for the month of August or sign of Leo. Onyx is another form of chalcedony. It is a stone of inner strength an physical strength as well. July’s Birthstone is the Ruby.  It is corundum with a color range from pink, crimson red to orange red.

It is a heart chakra stone and encourages the stimulation of the loving emotional side toward nurturing.  It has been used to stabilize one’s economic status and helps one to follow bliss!  This could be a very good stone for the many who have suffered these harder economic times by losing a job.  It could help in finding an authentic life expression, doing what you love and perhaps beginning a new fulfilling venture! “It can assist one in changing one’s world, promoting creativity and expansiveness in awareness and manifestation!” (Melody, “Love is in the Earth“, p. 573.

A pearl is the beautiful opalescent product an oyster creates in pr

otecting its soft tissues when a tiny grain of sand has found its way into them. It forms in both saltwater and freshwater.  I cannot help but to associate it with the  Feminine Opalescent Ray of Divine Grace.  According to Melody, the author of “It signifies faith, charity, an innocence, “Love is in the Earth”, it enhances personal integrity, and helps to provie a focus to one’s attention. It symbolizes purity and can stimulate that condition in ones body and mind preparing us a clear vehicle for advancing states of wisdom and clear channel for spiritutal guidance.  It has sometimes been called a “stone of sincerity” bringing truth.

Another birthstone for June is the Alexandrite, a beautiful stone which looks green or blue-green in daylight, and red or red-purple in incandescent light. It is a form of chrysoberyl.  It is said to bring joy and a powerful stone for transformation and spiritual evolvement, according to Robert Simmons, “The Book of Stones”. He goes on to say it “embodies the green of the heart and the purple of the higher mind”. It is said this stone helps one to move beyond grief.

Although I do remote crystal attunement sessions, I see many clients for a physical sessions. I establish energy flow by supportive and healing touch in the form of cradling the head, working on reflex points, laying my hands on their heads and bodies. This establishes energy flow as I mentioned, but the value of healing touch goes beyond the initiation of energy flow. It has been found to be an inherent factor in stress relief and in establishing healthy neural patterns, healthy immune response patterns and promotes thriving in newborns. There have been many studies done regarding stress levels going down with the use of touch but now scientists have recognized that our genetics is actually effected by early patterns of nurturing touch. While we all have individual unique genetic propensities, scientists have often questioned why a particular gene turns on or off which has been found to be a factor in many disease processes . Now, scientists have found that a mother rat’s nurturing touch actually provides the newborn rat strength in coping for its developing nervous and immune systems.  A nurtured baby seems to have more resilience, less anxiety and greater coping skills to stressors in the environment.

This is important because stress is a factor which can actually turn on genes that can later cause nervous or immune reactions, setting the newborn up for a variety of disease processes in later life. This is the field of “epigenetics“. Simply said, nurturing touch is even more of a requisite for health than once thought!

Light and Sound are the most fundamental of all creative forces. In the Bible, when God created the Universe He said “Let there be Light and there was Light!” As He created our Beautiful Planet Earth he created her body from the elements of the universe.  He created the mineral kingdom first. Therefore, crystals and minerals represent the most pure and potent  form of Spiritual Light known on Planet Earth!
